Ditto for smoothing out bumps on the road itself. After your sprint, the combination of the carbon tubes with the titanium lugs act like a salve smoothing out that burning feeling in your thighs. In fact, if you don't put out your maximum watts, the bike will let you know there is a lot more room to go faster. On the flats, the bike's huge downtube and stiff bottom bracket result in the ability to accelerate at will with absolutely no transfer loss in power. The bike's tracking is magical: you feel in complete connection with the road surface on a fast downhill, yet with the freedom to switch sides on the road and power through corners. Want to catch Julian Alaphilippe on those trickey descents? Bastion is your ticket: there is no bike that takes corners and descends faster, and with disc brakes you can pedal downhill in Chris Froome's supertuck position until the cows come home. Over the course of a three-week stage race, the comfort the bikes also provide will go a long way toward keeping the team's riders' legs fresh.
